If you are like most busy people your health is important to you but because it’s not urgent it goes on your “should do list”. Yes, the same list you haven’t got to in months, or is that years. Maybe you think you are in pretty good shape and while you know you could do more, compared to most people you still think you’re doing okay. Stop and consider this for one moment. Most people will die too young from stroke, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and the list goes on. Are you on par with most people?
Simply ask yourself, “what can’t I do now, that I once could?” It might be, run up a flight of stairs without getting puffed, or as simple as touch your toes. What about running around with your kids; fitting into your favorite clothes; having lots of energy; or not feeling tired all the time. This list is your “loss of life quality list”. Young people and healthy old people tend to struggle to make a list whereas sick people, people with disease and dysfunction tend to have long lists.
